Sofia is a highly qualified professional who earned her master’s degree in engineering mechanics from the prestigious University of WisconsinMadison, USA (1988), her doctorate in philosophy in engineering mechanics and astronautics (1992), and her bachelor’s degree in science from the Department of Civil Engineering at the Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia (1986).
Prof. Sofia joined Bakrie University in 2009 and contributed to its transformation from Bakrie School of Management to Bakrie University in 2010. Under her guidance, the university added two doctoral programs and grew from two undergraduate programs to ten.
Prof. Sofia is an exceptional engineering expert in Indonesia. She has authored seven books, including one on the effects of blast loads on the dynamic behavior of floor and roof plates.
